Important Upcoming Dates
January 7, 2015: All first semester portfolios due to district for review.
Submit January 7 Final Drafts in Word or PDF to Heather Mullins (heather_mullins@nccs.k12.nc.us)
Title each portfolio: Subject_Last Name_Fall14 English I_Mullins_Fall14
Final portfolios will be submitted in PDF.
February 2014: Hickory to provide feedback and return to NCCS for LEA Team Review.
March - April 2014: Revisions andFinalizing Second Semester Portfolios
April 22, 2015: All second semester portfolios due to district for review.
May 1, 2015:Honors portfolios for designated courses submitted through the NC Education "Honors Portfolio/NCSGP" Moodle site.
May 15 - June 5, 2015: Reviewers contacted and trained.
July 30, 2015: Online review of submitted portfolios completed
Fall 2015: Feedback to LEAs
Spring 2015: Newton-Conover to provide feedback to Hickory City on their portfolios
According to Randy Craven at NC State, the Moodle submissions need to be free-standing without links to outside sources. There are people who had links and some worked while others did not depending on where they were and the capability of the reviewers computers. Sometimes the reviewers computers do have appropriate plug-ins for the site or there is a number of things that can happen with links. If the reviewers cannot access the components that are linked, they cannot evaluate them and have no choice but to mark as "Not met".

Hickory has agreed to provide feedback on our portfolios this winter. In return, we will provide feedback on their portfolios next year when they begin the process.
